Today, The Supreme Court announced that it will uphold President Obama’s healthcare reform law, explaining that the individual mandate is constitutional as a tax as opposed to the Commerce Clause regulations. Almost all of the Affordable Care Act’s provisions will remain in force despite challenge by 26 states.
The decision was a 5-4 vote with Chief Justice John Roberts siding with the liberal faction of the Court.
